Loud bang, door won’t lift
Probably a broken spring. Symptoms, why springs usually get replaced in pairs, and cited price ranges.
Two shops on our list are based in Cedar Park, and three more Austin-area shops say on their own websites that they cover it. This page covers who they are, what to check first when your door quits, what Cedar Park neighbors have said about spring prices, and the city’s permit basics.

Opener vs door problem, and how to decide between repair and replacement.
Sensor vs track vs cable vs spring in two minutes, plus the low-sun sensor problem.
How lead-gen call centers work, and questions that get a straight answer about ownership.
These are stubs, not audits. For each shop we checked the company’s own website on 2026-10-24 for a Cedar Park service-area claim (quoted below). We have not verified licenses, insurance, ratings, or prices. Call 2–3 of them and compare quotes.
What we verified: the homepage calls itself a “Family & Veteran Owned Company,” names founder Don Grenier, and lists a Cedar Park showroom. Its business address in the site’s structured data is 1408 N Bell Blvd, Cedar Park, and the site lists two other Cedar Park addresses (2507 S Bell Blvd and 205 Industrial Blvd). It’s the largest shop on our list, with showrooms and offices in several towns.
What we verified: Cedar Park is in the contact page’s service area (“Round Rock, Austin, Pflugerville, Cedar Park, Leander…”), and the page says it can usually be out same-day during business hours (Mon–Sat, 8 AM–6 PM).
What we verified: the FAQ lists Cedar Park (and Leander) among the cities it covers and says it is “100% locally owned and operated.”
What we verified: Cedar Park is in the contact page’s service-area list (“Serving Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Pflugerville and surrounding communities”). Not based in Cedar Park.
What we verified: the homepage calls it “a family-run team based in Cedar Park” led by owner Eric Colbert, with two decades in the trade, and lists its headquarters at 1320 Arrow Point Dr, Ste 501, Cedar Park. The site shows two phone numbers; we list the one on its contact page.
Not listed for Cedar Park: South Austin Garage Door Repair and Systems. Its site describes a South Austin focus, and we didn’t find a Cedar Park claim.
These names came up in our research. They are not on our list yet because we haven’t finished checking them. Listing them here isn’t an endorsement.
The most direct thread we found is “Garage door repair recommendations” on r/CedarPark (Oct 2025), from someone with a broken spring asking who to call and what two springs should cost.
Because there’s a well-known shop with “Cedar Park” in its name, look-alike names and generic listings show up in search too. These signs suggest a listing may be a lead-gen or national SEO operation. None of them proves it; the lead-gen vs local guide has the full checklist.
Ask on the phone: “What’s your company’s legal name, who owns it, and is the tech your employee or a subcontractor?”
Many Cedar Park neighborhoods have HOAs with exterior design rules. Before you order a replacement door in a new color or style, check your HOA’s architectural guidelines. A like-for-like spring or opener repair usually isn’t the issue.
We don’t publish Cedar Park-specific prices because we haven’t found a reliable public source for them, beyond the Reddit anecdotes above. Cited Austin-area ranges are in the spring, opener, and off-track guides. Ask any shop for a phone ballpark before they come out.
